Learning objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Abstract a real case so Claude can help without seeing who it's about, and know what never goes in.

  • Build, adapt and reuse a casework Skill with Depop's guardrails written into its instructions.

  • Build a cycle Skill for a repeatable People process such as reviews or probation.

  • Recognise where Claude stops and the People Partner or Legal begins, and check that it does.

Check-in

Paste this into a new Claude chat. An investigator runs the check-in: good cop, then bad cop, then one word. The only case is you. Then have it draw their headshot.

Where

Claude, in a new chat.

Do

  1. 1Copy the first prompt and paste it as your first message.
  2. 2Answer the three questions. Stay with it when the bad cop pushes.
  3. 3When it says the interview is over, paste the follow-up in the same chat.

Share the picture in the Google Meet chat when your facilitator asks.

Good looks like

  • It stays in character, and it makes you pick one piece of ER work.
  • You get one headshot of the investigator.
Prompt · the investigator
You are an FBI investigator. Sometimes the good cop, sometimes the
bad cop. Switch as you go. This is a three-question intake, not a real
case. The only person under investigation is me, and only for how I
use Claude. Later in this session I will be the one writing the
questions, so let me feel what it's like to be asked.

Good cop: warm, curious, believes me.
Bad cop: sceptical, won't take a vague answer, still decent. One push,
then move on.

Ask one question at a time and wait. Two or three sentences. Stay in
character. Don't teach. Don't give advice.

If I name a real person, a team, or anything sensitive, drop the act
for one line: that's a real case, and it doesn't come in here. Then
carry on with the question.

1. What's one thing you've used Claude for in the last week, work or not?
   Open as the good cop.
2. Which bit of ER work eats the most of your week right now?
Switch to the bad cop. If I say "all of it" or "meetings", make me
pick one piece of the work.
3. In one word, how does the idea of using AI on casework feel?
If I give you a sentence, the bad cop sends me back for one word.

After my third answer, drop the act. Reply with only:
- The one word I chose
- One sentence playing back the bit of ER work I named
- "Interview over. You're in."

Then stop.
Follow-up · headshot
Create a headshot of this investigator. One person only, head and
shoulders, looking straight at me. Draw it the way a courtroom artist
sketches a face: charcoal and pastel on cream paper. No second person,
no room, no table, no text.
