Cover of A Buyer’s Guide to AI Practice Platforms by Real Talk Studio

10 pages · five checkpoints · a checklist you can take into every demo

Why this guide exists

Buying the wrong tool costs more than the licence.

It costs the rollout, the lost time, and the trust you burn getting a team to adopt something that ends up as shelfware. Most platforms measure usage. Very few can prove behaviour changed.

The one-line test

If the platform disappeared tomorrow, what evidence of your people's readiness would you be left holding?

Five questions before you sign

The checkpoints that separate readiness from completion.

Score every vendor against the same five, in the same order. A platform that passes four but fails Evidence is a tool. A platform that passes all five is an assurance capability.

01 · Pressure

Does it hold up when the conversation turns?

Characters that stay calm and follow a script teach the wrong lesson. Look for push-back, emotion, hang-ups, and multi-person rooms.

02 · Evidence

Readiness proved, or completion recorded?

Minutes practised are usage, not proof. Ask for line-by-line scoring, first vs best attempt, and a controlled benchmark against real outcomes.

03 · Governance

Will the AI pass procurement?

ISO 42001 is AI governance, not a slogan. Ask where data is hosted, who the sub-processors are, and whether every conversation is moderated.

04 · Adoption

Will people actually use it?

Practice sticks when it lives in a workflow that already exists. Unlimited volume, LMS / SCORM / MCP launch, and real usage — not a first-month spike.

05 · Pricing

Can you do the maths yourself?

If pricing is hidden, the number moves. Public rates, pooled hours, and a pilot that does not lock you into an annual contract.

Who this guide is for

Anyone tasked with choosing an AI practice platform this year.

Operations and contact-centre leaders

You need agents ready before they take a live complaint, not after the first escalation.

L&D and talent leaders

You are moving from static content to practice that scales — without another shelfware licence.

Compliance, conduct, and risk

A completion certificate is not a defence. You need dated proof people can handle the conversation.

Sales and enablement

You are comparing tools for ramp, SKOs, and ongoing coaching — and you need a way to score them.

Common questions

What is in the buyer’s guide?
Ten pages: why most tools record activity instead of readiness, five checkpoints (Pressure, Evidence, Governance, Adoption, Pricing), a complete demo checklist, and how to compute cost without a sales call.
Who should read it?
Operations, L&D, compliance, and revenue leaders who have been asked to choose an AI roleplay or AI practice platform in 2026 — and anyone who has to defend that choice to a board, auditor, or CFO.
Is this a vendor brochure?
It is written as a buying framework. Each checkpoint is a set of questions you can take into any demo. Real Talk Studio’s answers sit in a separate box so you can ignore them and still use the test.

The fastest way to evaluate any platform is to use it.

Real Talk Studio has no demo wall and no sign-up. Open a scenario in the next five minutes — or book a call and we'll build your first one live.
