Yoodli Alternatives Compared (2026)

Yoodli Alternatives Compared (2026)

Yoodli alternatives are worth a proper look if you like the speech coaching and want more scenario depth, team practice, or UK/EU data residency. Yoodli is strong at delivery analytics and has a real free tier. Buyers leave it when they need harder workplace conversations, proof someone can do the conversation, or a platform that is not primarily a speaking coach.

I founded Real Talk Studio. I still think Yoodli is the right keep if the gap is filler, pace, and pitch. Switch or add something when the job becomes a hard 1-1, a team room, or an audit file. Prices below are from public pages. Yoodli publishes individual prices; we publish team prices. Second Nature and Attensi will not show you a number without a demo.

What Yoodli is actually good at

Yoodli is an AI communication coach. The product people remember is the speech analytics: filler words, pacing, talk time, plus roleplay and feedback on uploaded recordings. It also offers live meeting nudges on Zoom, Teams, and Meet — practice and in-call coaching. That combination is rare.

Public pricing as of 2026 (from yoodli.ai/pricing):

PlanPublic priceWhat you get
StarterFree5 lifetime sessions (any roleplay over 30 seconds counts)
Pro$8 / month billed annuallyUp to 10 roleplays a week, live AI roleplays, upload feedback
Advanced$20 / month billed annuallyUnlimited roleplays; data excluded from AI training
Team / EnterpriseCustomCustom scenarios, dashboards, rubric scoring, SSO, SCIM, LMS

Yoodli states SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliance. Individual Starter/Pro plans may use session data to improve the platform; Advanced, Team, and Enterprise exclude data from training by default.

What it does well: you can try it tonight, the speech diagnostics are real, the live-meeting coaching is unusual, and you can buy an individual plan without a sales cycle. They also have enterprise logos and a serious security story.

Where people look elsewhere: the roleplay is often thinner than a dedicated simulation product. Several people in one room is not the core. UK/EU data residency is a procurement question, not a homepage promise. “Can this person do the conversation, and can I show that to an auditor?” is not what Yoodli is built for. English-first is a constraint for some global rollouts.

What practice looks like when you leave the speaking coach

Yoodli’s distinctive screenshot is a delivery overlay: filler counts, pace, talk time. Ours is a conversation that talks back, then a scored snapshot.

Live Real Talk Studio session with avatar, scenario brief and last line

A hard 1-1 in the browser — not a filler-word overlay.

Scored snapshot: 36/100, unmet objective, standout moment and biggest miss with quotes

What we keep after the session. Delivery notes are useful; they are not this.

The alternatives, fairly

Real Talk Studio

We build live, spoken simulations of difficult workplace conversations — feedback, coaching, redundancy, vulnerable customers, harassment disclosure — and score the attempt. Team mode puts several characters in one meeting. Evidence is the point: transcript, skill bands, objectives, policy checks. Hosted in the EU. A small cohort starts at £1,200; enterprise from £20,000, charged on the hours you use.

Best for: L&D and compliance leads who need management, service, and conduct conversations — not only sales pitches — and who have to show that people can do the thing.

Not best for: individuals who want a $8/month speaking coach, or sales orgs that want Gong-style real-call scoring as the core product.

Second Nature

Enterprise sales roleplay with 3D avatars, course structure, and 25–30+ languages. Strong Salesforce story. No public price; you book a demo. G2 ratings are high in the sales-roleplay category. Best for large global sales orgs that want a managed enablement platform. Too heavy, and too sales-shaped, for a 20-person UK professional-services firm that needs manager conversations.

Hyperbound

AI buyers trained on a large B2B call corpus. The interesting product is the loop: score real calls, send the rep to a roleplay, score the next real calls. Free tier with prebuilt bots is genuinely useful. Paid Practice / Perform is quote-based. Best for sales enablement that already lives in Gong/Salesforce. Weak fit if your “roleplay” is a redundancy meeting.

Virti

Started in immersive and healthcare training; now AI roleplay plus 360/interactive video, including VR. Best if you need the environment (ward, theatre, shop floor) as much as the words. Overkill if you only need conversation practice in a browser.

Virti alternatives.

Attensi

Norwegian enterprise platform. Gamified 3D simulation for volume workforces — retail, hospitality, automotive, plus a conversational AI layer (they call it RealTalk). Clients include large multi-site brands. No public price; this is a transformation programme, not a seat you buy on a card. Mid-market UK teams often bounce off the implementation shape.

Attensi alternatives.

Quantified

Sales conversation intelligence and practice, often cited in enterprise case studies. Best as a sales-specific stack. Not a general L&D conversation platform.

Niche +1: a structured workshop, or ChatGPT

If you have twelve people and a good facilitator, a well-run workshop still beats a badly rolled-out platform. If you have one person and a weekend, roleplay with ChatGPT is a start — and a ceiling. Neither gives you evidence.

Which tool fits which job

Speech coaching / individual practice. Yoodli. The free tier and the $8 Pro plan are the honest answer. Do not buy an enterprise simulation platform to fix filler words.

Sales enablement. Hyperbound if you want the real-call loop; Second Nature if you want avatar-led courses and languages; Yoodli if budget is the constraint and English is enough.

L&D for managers and mixed conversation types. Real Talk Studio or a designed Attensi programme. Choose us if you care about hard 1-1s, team rooms, and audit-shaped evidence. Choose Attensi if you are a global volume workforce buying a gamified simulation system.

Compliance / conduct. Real Talk Studio or a custom Attensi build. Yoodli is the wrong category.

Healthcare / immersive environments. Virti (or a clinical VR specialist). Do not force a speaking coach into a theatre.

Skip us if you needed filler-word analytics, a cheap individual plan, or live-meeting coaching in Zoom. That is Yoodli’s job. We will not pretend otherwise.

How to run an evaluation

  1. Pick three real conversations from the last quarter — not the vendor’s demo happy path.
  2. Run the same three people through each shortlisted tool. Listen to the third turn, not the trailer.
  3. Ask: where is the data hosted, who trains on it, and what can I export for an auditor?
  4. Price the actual use (hours or seats × languages × custom scenarios), not the homepage tile.
  5. Pilot for four weeks with a named owner. If usage is curiosity-only, you do not have a performance standard. That is a culture problem, not a feature gap — I have written about that in Nobody Practises.

What Yoodli users usually outgrow

Three patterns, from conversations with L&D buyers rather than from a fake case study:

They start with filler words and pitch practice. That works. Then a Head of People asks whether the same tool can evidence a harassment-prevention programme. The honest answer is no — not as the centre of the file. Then a sales leader asks for a buyer who sounds like their ICP and a scorecard that matches their methodology. Yoodli’s team plans can go a long way there; Hyperbound and Second Nature still sit closer to that job. Then an operations lead asks for a team meeting with four moods in the room. That is a different product.

Outgrowing Yoodli is not a failure of Yoodli. It is a sign the organisation finally named the conversation it actually needs to train.

A practical way to use their free tier: give five people one hard conversation each — a pitch, a 1-1, a complaint — and listen to the delivery notes. If the gap you hear is filler and pace, stay. If the gap you hear is the third turn of a disclosure or a post-redundancy room, you are in a different shop. That experiment costs nothing but an hour, and it will save you a quarter of demos.

For the conversations themselves, use the workplace roleplay library. For a wider head-to-head, use Second Nature vs Hyperbound vs Yoodli vs Real Talk Studio.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01What are the best Yoodli alternatives in 2026?

It depends on the job. Hyperbound and Second Nature for sales. Real Talk Studio for management, service, and compliance conversations. Virti for immersive/VR. Attensi for enterprise gamified simulation. Yoodli itself remains the best cheap speaking coach.

02Is Yoodli free?

There is a free Starter plan, capped at five lifetime sessions. Regular use needs Pro or Advanced. Team use is custom.

03How does Yoodli pricing compare to Real Talk Studio?

Yoodli sells cheap individual plans and custom team contracts. We publish usage-based team pricing (starter from £1,200; enterprise from £20,000). They are not substitutes: one is a speaking coach, the other is practice for the conversation itself.

04Does Yoodli do workplace roleplay or only speech analytics?

Both. The distinctive strength is still delivery analytics and live-meeting nudges. Buyers who need deeper scenario realism usually add or switch.

05Who is Yoodli best for?

Individuals, SMBs, and enterprises that want scalable communication coaching — presentations, interviews, sales delivery — especially if they also want in-call nudges. Not the first pick for harassment-disclosure practice or a post-redundancy team meeting.
