Attensi Alternatives Compared (2026)

Attensi Alternatives Compared (2026)

Attensi alternatives show up when the brief is “we need people to practise,” and the quote you just saw is for a global gamified-simulation programme. Attensi is good at that programme. It is not the only way to get practice, and it is often the wrong shape for a mid-market UK organisation.

I founded Real Talk Studio. If you have a volume workforce and a 3D programme budget, Attensi is still the grown-up buy. The product facts below are from their public case studies.

Attensi is a programme for volume workforces — not a mid-market 1-1 tool you switch on on Friday. Under about 800 people, look at us or Yoodli. If you are actually a sales org, look at Second Nature or Hyperbound. If the place is the skill, look at Virti. There is no public price; the number to demand is year two, once you add authors, licences, and services.

If you already have an Attensi login and searched “Attensi skills,” you want your course list, not a vendor comparison. This article is the comparison.

What Attensi is

Attensi is a Norwegian company that sells practice-based, game-designed training at enterprise scale. The older story is 3D simulation with points, leaderboards, and journeys people actually finish. The newer story is AI authoring plus conversational practice (they brand a product RealTalk — no relation to us).

The public case studies look like multi-site retail and hospitality, automotive, insurance, NGOs. B&Q has talked about rolling conversational AI practice to thousands of showroom colleagues. Hiscox, KPMG, and hotel groups appear in their story set. Fosway has listed them as a serious digital-learning player. Training Industry put them on a 2026 AI-coaching tools list.

What they are good at

  • Making repetition feel like a game rather than a module.
  • Volume workforces: the same motion, thousands of times, on branded floors and shops.
  • A services wrapper — design, analytics, “university” for your authors — that a two-person L&D team cannot fake.

What they are not

  • A self-serve seat you buy on a card. Pricing is not on the website.
  • A lightweight UK mid-market tool. Implementation looks like a programme.
  • A specialist in the ugly 1-1 (redundancy, grievance-adjacent feedback) unless you build that content with them.
  • A VR-healthcare platform (that is Virti’s history).

If you want people to love opening the training, Attensi’s design culture is the reference. If you want a scored transcript of a harassment disclosure by Friday, you may be buying a factory to make a sandwich.

What a conversation tool looks like (not a 3D store)

Attensi’s distinctive picture is a branded showroom or kitchen. Ours is a 1-1 and a scored file.

Live Real Talk Studio session

Browser, no 3D campus — the conversation is the product.

Scored snapshot with verbatim quotes

The artefact a thin L&D team can actually keep.

Attensi alternatives by buyer size

If you are a 50–800 person UK organisation

You probably do not need a 3D campus. You need the ten conversations that create tribunals, resignations, and CSAT holes.

Real Talk Studio — live practice for managers, service, sales, and compliance. Team rooms for the meeting after a restructure or the banter intervention. Published pricing from £1,200 starter and £20,000 enterprise. EU hosted. Workplace library.

Yoodli — if the gap is delivery (filler, pace) and you want people practising this week for $8. Yoodli alternatives if you outgrow it.

A good facilitator + short simulations. Still valid. Cheaper than a platform you will not staff.

If you are a sales-led scale-up

Hyperbound or Second Nature. Attensi can do sales, but you would be buying a simulation house to solve enablement. See Hyperbound review and the four-way comparison.

If you are a global retailer or hotel group

Stay in Attensi’s category unless you have a reason not to. The alternatives here are other enterprise simulation / immersive vendors (Virti for environment-heavy work; sometimes a custom build from an immersive studio) — not a speaking coach.

If the new need is only conversation on top of an LMS you already like, a conversational layer (ours, or Attensi’s own RealTalk, or Second Nature for sales) can sit beside the 3D work rather than ripping it out.

If you needed VR or the ward

Virti, or a clinical specialist (SimX, Oxford Medical Simulation). Attensi is not a surgical-haptics product. Do not compare them as if they were.

When Attensi is still the right buy

  • You have tens of thousands of people doing a repeatable operational motion.
  • Engagement is the historical failure mode (they will not open the LMS).
  • You want one designed world — store, kitchen, showroom — not only a face on a call.
  • You have budget and a team to run a multi-month build.

Those are real conditions. Plenty of buyers meet them. This page exists for the ones who do not, and who have been told that “gamified simulation” is the only grown-up option.

How to evaluate without a twelve-week theatre

  1. Give every vendor the same three job moments. One should be boring-operational. One should be a hard conversation. One should be a team room.
  2. Ask who authors the second scenario — you, them, or an AI you will not stand over.
  3. Price year two (licences + services + internal authors), not the pilot.
  4. Ask where the data lives and what you can export when the CISO or the EHRC-shaped audit arrives.
  5. Watch a frontline person use it without a host. If it needs a ceremony, it will die in week six.

What “too much platform” usually means

Attensi’s model assumes you have someone whose job is the academy: an author, a sponsor, a comms plan, a leaderboard someone will actually look at. In a 200-person UK professional-services firm, that person is often also running onboarding, the mentorship scheme, and the Christmas party. They will not become a simulation studio.

The tell in the first meeting is the slide that starts with “journey.” If you needed a journey, you would already have one in the LMS. What you needed was six conversations and a way to see who can do them. That is a different buy.

None of that makes Attensi bad. It makes it a poor fit for a thin L&D team that was sent out to “look at AI roleplay” after a board paper on the Worker Protection Act. Send that person to reasonable steps and the training audit, not to a 3D showroom.

Questions that sort Attensi from a conversation tool

  • Do we need the place (aisle, kitchen, booth) or only the talk?
  • Will a store colleague open this because it is a game, or because their manager assigned a conversation?
  • Who writes scenario two — a vendor designer, an internal author, or an AI we will have to stand over?
  • What does year-two cost look like when the first glamorous build is done?
  • Can we export a dated attempt that a lawyer would recognise as Level 3 evidence?

If the answers are place, game, vendor designer, large, and “not really,” you are still in Attensi’s market. If the answers are talk, assignment, us-this-week, modest, and “yes,” you are in ours or Yoodli’s, depending on whether the talk is a hard 1-1 or a pitch.

Skip us if you needed a 3D store, a kitchen, or a showroom that people open because it is a game. We are a conversation tool. Attensi builds the place. Buying us to replace that is how you get a disappointed operations director.

One more UK-specific note. Attensi has real UK logos — B&Q’s showroom rollout is a public example of conversational AI on their stack. That is proof the category works at retail volume. It is not proof you need the same shape. A 180-person law firm in Leeds and a 2,500-person showroom division are not the same buyer. If your board paper copied a retail case study, rewrite the paper before you rewrite the stack.

More on making practice stick: scenario-based training. For the conversations themselves: leadership training scenarios.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01What are the best Attensi alternatives?

For mid-market conversation practice, Real Talk Studio or Yoodli. For enterprise sales, Second Nature or Hyperbound. For immersive/VR, Virti. For another full-scale gamified ops build, you are still in Attensi’s peer set, not a $20/month app.

02Is Attensi only for large enterprises?

That is who the model fits. Smaller organisations can buy it; they often cannot staff it.

03How does Attensi pricing work?

It is not published. Budget for software plus design and a multi-year relationship. If you need a number on a page this week, you are not in their motion.

04Attensi vs Real Talk Studio — which is which?

Attensi is a gamified simulation company that now also does AI conversation. We are a conversation practice company that also does team meetings. There is overlap. They are not built for the same job.

05Why do people search “Attensi skills”?

Usually because they have a login, not because they are choosing a vendor.
